Kristie Yaakoby Memorial Triathlon
he Olympic and Sprint triathlon begins at 9:00 AM at Nedows Beach in Leland. Awards will follow the triathlon at approximately 1:30 pm. The course will also close at 1:30 PM. Proceeds will benefit cancer research and Michael's place in Traverse City. This is NOT a USAT sanctioned event; therefore, it is asked that one exhibit exemplary sportsmanlike conduct at all times! Disqualification is based on unfair conduct. You can view the course on Friday (6/16) after 5:00 pm, and the triathlon staging area will be cordoned off at Bartholomew Park at Nedow’s Beach. Set-up begins at 6:30 am on June 16. On Friday, June 15, online registration closes at 5:00 p.m. and late registration will be available from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday morning June 16 from 6:30-8:00 a.m. at Leland Public School (LPS). Packet pick-up is from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and 6:30 to 8:15 am on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at LPS. On Saturday, June 16 parking is available at LPS. Nedow’s Bay area will ONLY be used as a drop off area for your bike and other items until 8:30 AM.

The Louisville Triple Crown of RunningSM presented by Planet Fitness is a series of well-established road races of varying distances. Runners may participate in any or all three "legs" but must enter and finish all three in the series to be eligible*. Participants of the series will receive a T-shirt (in addition to individual race shirts) and the official winner of the series will also receive a special award. There is no additional entry fee required to participate. *Eligible participants must be registered and have completed finish times (per our timing firm) for all 3 events in the series.

One of a kind triathlon! The Bay City Morning Rotary is proud to host the Driathlon. This is a signature fundraising event for our club and we are excited to share it with you and the City of Bay City. The Driathlon is a unique event that changes the typical triathlon with canoeing instead of swimming, and new this year, Kayaking. The event has been a huge success! Teams of two compete against each other in a “team” or “relay” format. New this year will be the individual kayak division. Canoe/kayak on the Saginaw River, Bike on a closed course on Bay City streets, and run on the scenic riverwalk is what you’ll be experiencing to compete at the Driathlon, and it all kicks off from the transition area situated at Veterans Memorial Park.
As a club we are very happy with the outcome and excited about the prospects of our signature event. The money raised are granted to organizations in Bay County. Participants have come from all over the state to experience Bay City and its surroundings. Help make this a big draw allowing the Bay City Morning Rotary Club to disperse funds to local charities.
