The Running To Honor 5K is a timed, family friendly walk (or run) focused on keeping the memory of our Fallen Soldiers & Veterans alive and reminding others that Freedom is never free. The event will take place on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 inside Heritage Park located at 12111 Pardee Rd, Taylor, MI 48180. The start time of the 5K walk (or run) is 8:00 AM in front of the Sheridan Pavilion. The Kids .5K will start at 7:30 AM.
The proceeds from the race will benefit the Taylor VFW Post 4422 and Running To Honor organizations.

The 20th annual Bear River Crawl is a 5K Run/Walk which will continue to donate all proceeds to the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders. This race has received rave reviews of being a fun run with trails and a scenic route. Many families enjoy the race every year. The 5K run course will take you up one side of the Bear River then cross a footbridge and onto a gravel trail that hugs the river. The last mile you'll run in the shade while listening to the roar of the rapids on the river. The 5K walk course will travel south on the Little Traverse Wheelway which showcases the beautiful view of Little Traverse Bay, then turn around at 1.5 miles and return to the finish line. You are welcomed to walk with a stroller or with your dog on the 5 K walk, (dogs & strollers on the 5K walk only)

The Rose Run is a 5k run/walk and kids' fun run in memory of Rose Marie Hunt. Rose was 54 years young when she lost her battle with breast cancer. She was 42 when she was first diagnosed. She had a bilateral mastectomy and endured a stem cell transplant in Toledo, Ohio where her treatments were, at that time, administered. She went in to remission and enjoyed re-marrying, watching her kids graduate high school, being there for the birth of 5 of her now 7 grandchildren and working hard, which was something she always did.

The Bastille Day Race features three timed, certified races: the 15K run, the 5K run, and the 5K walk. All proceeds will be used to support our mission of providing decent, affordable housing in Genesee County. Yearly, Genesee Habitat builds or rehabs 6-8 affordable homes, provides approximately 150 homeowners with critical repairs, and invest in various neighborhood improvement projects through out the City of Flint. This year, we are trying to raise $30,000 to support our mission of building homes, community and hope in Genesee County. We can't meet this goal without your help. Sign up or donate today!
