The Oceana Running Festival will be the first running event to be held entirely on the runway at Apollo Soueck Field. The inaugural event will consist of three race distances that include the “F-18K” (11.18 miles), the “Hard Deck 5K” (3.1 miles) and the “Tomcat Challenge” (the 18K plus 2.82 additional miles for a total of 14 miles), a nod to the F-14 Tomcat which took it’s last flight from Oceana in 2006.

Every three minutes, a new case of prostate cancer is diagnosed in the United States. Every 15 minutes, a man dies from it. As an extension of the Growvember movement, we’re raising awareness to help find a cure, help men and their families with the diagnosis, and support men’s health, in general. Portions of Moustache Run proceeds go directly to organizations dedicated to prostate cancer research and support in the local communities where we host our event. The Moustache Run is going virtual in 2020! This year, you can run with us from anywhere in the US--run your race, on your time, and then share your results and photos with us to celebrate your accomplishment! All registrants will receive a Moustache Run hoodie, hat and medal to show their support.

The Southwest Detroit Business Association is proud to present this year's annual 5k/10k "Run of the Dead". It is a virtual 5k/10k run which begins Saturday, October 31st and ends on Saturday, November 7th. The ROTD celebrates the Mexican holiday of “Dia de Los Muertos” and the Christian observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. We are working with the Southwest Detroit art community to identify an artist to create this year’s ofrenda that will include a community offering component. An ofrenda is a visual art piece dedicated to one or more people who have died in the past year to honor their memory and contributions to others. Every registrant will receive a ROTD swag bag w/ commemorative t-shirt, face mask, lanyard/bib and ROTD medal.

All events are for walkers and runners of all ages, with the exception of the Gapper's Kids Fun Run, which is limited to kids ages 10 and under. All participants will receive a custom race medal, race t-shirt (technical shirt for 10K participants), professional chip-timing with live results, free downloadable race photography, a post-race party in the Kroger Fan Zone and one (1) View Level ticket to a 2019 Reds Game.
