Rugged Maniac is like recess for grown-ups, except our playground has a 3-story water slide, trampolines, and a fire jump, and there's a huge festival right in the middle of everything with a DJ and plenty of beer! Sounds amazing, right?! Here's how it works:
THE FESTIVAL
The 5,000-person party starts at 8:30 a.m. with a DJ on the main stage, booths giving away free stuff, all kinds of interactive games (mechanical bulls, dance-offs, stein-hoisting, pie-eating…), and tasty food and beer to keep you fueled all day. The best part? The games are completely FREE, no ticket required, so even your least adventurous friends can join the party!
THE PLAYGROUND
But the real fun happens out on the playground — our 3-mile course packed with 20+ epic obstacles designed to both challenge and thrill Maniacs of all fitness levels, from couch potatoes to marathoners. The course opens at 9 a.m. but you'll select a specific time to run when you buy your tickets. If you're a late sleeper, that means you can wake up at noon, run at 1:45 p.m., and then party the rest of the day! Or if you're the competitive type, join the 9 a.m. "Elite Heat" to race other speedsters for a chance to be crowned the winner!
Each time slot is limited to just 200 Maniacs each, so grab your friends and reserve your spot before it sells out!

The Bloomingdale Trail Run is back! After a two-year hiatus enjoy views of the city while dashing above Northwest side neighborhoods on the celebrated, elevated Bloomingdale Trail. This is a family friendly event with a timed 5k followed by a ¼ and ½ mile dash for young runners. Runners will begin and finish on the West end of the Bloomingdale Trail at the McCormick Tribune YMCA (1834 N. Lawndale) where they and their families will be treated to light breakfast treats, coffee and other surprises. The Bloomingdale Trail will be closed to all other users while the run is being conducted. The Bloomingdale Trail Run is produced by the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail, the McCormick Tribune YMCA and the Chicago Park District.

The OhioHealth Grandview Yard Quarter Marathon & 5K will debut on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022.
The event will feature the Grandview Yard Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) and 5K (3.1) miles. Registration begins at just $50 and $30, respectively.
The Grandview Yard Quarter Marathon & 5K will start and finish in Ray E. DeGraw Park in Grandview Yard. The course provides a fantastic tour of the Grandview Yard, Franklinton, the Scioto Greenway and the Arena District. The Byers Xtra Mile Post-Race Party will be held in Ray E. DeGraw Park right after the event.

The start time of the 5K & 1 Mile-ish walk (or run) is 8:00 AM in front of the Sheridan Pavilion. The Kids .5K will start at 7:30 AM.
The proceeds from the race will benefit Victory Gym Veterans Health Club, Taylor VFW Post 4422 and Running To Honor organizations.
