Fundraising Only
Join our VIRTUAL Ride 4 Recovery. This year’s Ride will begin August 16 and end August 30, leading up to National Recovery Month in September. Ride for a purpose with family and friends (all while social distancing yourself) in you neighborhood, on trails or even on an exercise bike. Ride 4 Recovery is much more than a bike ride. It is an experience to honor someone special in your life in recovery from substance use, and to help our community, letting our neighbors know they are not alone on their journey. To join us is easy to do and it also supports our life-changing programs at CARE. read more…

Thanks for supporting the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City and helping improve the quality of life for those affected by brain injury. Going the Distance for Brain Injury (formerly the Amy Thompson Run) is an annual tradition for many Kansas Citians. The run calls attention to the thousands of individuals living with the after effects of a brain injury. We never thought this would happen! With the recent increase in Covid 19 cases, we are switching to an all virtual event with a twist. This decision breaks my heart because now, more than ever, we need to stay active and connected. To make this event safe we would need to strip out all the important features like: cheering on your favorite runner, giving high-fives, pacing each other, and celebrating achievements. This, frankly, would remove the heart and soul of our event. We are working on the details but here's what we want people to do. If you have not done so already, please join a team. If you have questions or problems with this process please send me an email (Running2bWell@Gmail.com). We will be working with the team captains to set up unofficial 5K courses that are convenient for each team. This will allow teams to get together (in much smaller/safer numbers), have fun, hopefully in costume, and cheer each other on especially the first time 5K runners/walkers. You can still pick up your bib and shirt 7/31 (5p-7P) at Ritchies Sporting Goods 137 S Main Tallmadge OH or we'll mail to you after the event along with any awards. Note: we're hoping to get shirts to the team captains a day early This was a very difficult decision and we explored every contingency but the board and I agree that this is the best solution based on current conditions. #weadapt. Together we are helping those in our communities who struggle with mental health and addiction issues. Thank you for your support of our organization. 50% FESTIVAL + 50% MUD RUN = 100% AWESOME! Rugged Maniac is like recess for grown-ups, except our playground has a 3-story water slide, trampolines, and a fire jump, and there’s a huge festival right in the middle of everything with a DJ and plenty of beer! Sounds amazing, right?! Here’s how it works: THE FESTIVAL The 5,000-person party starts at 8:30 a.m. with a DJ on the main stage, booths giving away free stuff, all kinds of interactive games (mechanical bulls, dance-offs, stein-hoisting, pie-eating…), and tasty food and beer to keep you fueled all day. The best part? The games are completely FREE, no ticket required, so even your least adventurous friends can join the party! THE PLAYGROUND But the real fun happens out on the playground — our 3-mile course packed with 20+ epic obstacles designed to both challenge and thrill Maniacs of all fitness levels, from couch potatoes to marathoners. The course opens at 9 a.m. but you’ll select a specific time to run when you buy your tickets. If you’re a late sleeper, that means you can wake up at noon, run at 1:45 p.m., and then party the rest of the day! Or if you’re the competitive type, join the 9 a.m. “Elite Heat” to race other speedsters for a chance to be crowned the winner! Each time slot is limited to just 200 Maniacs each, so grab your friends and reserve your spot before it sells out! read more…

2020 Bridging the Gap Virtual 10K, 5K and 1-Mile
12:00 AM EDT
Detroit, MI
Other
Whether you’re young or young at heart, join your fellow Detroit runners and walkers at the Detroit River Walk for the 4th annual Bridging the Gap Bringing Communities Together 10K, 5K Run/Walk and 1 mile Run/Walk. This year, again we are excited to team with “HOPE Against Trafficking”, a residential recovery program for adult female survivors of human trafficking. This run/walk will not only provide runners and walkers the opportunity to network and meet surrounding neighbors and businesses in the community. The long term goal is to continue to have an annual run/walk event and reach out to non-profit organizations such as Sanctum House - to help expand our vision to bridge gaps and promote health and wellness on most socio-economic levels. read more…
